The world needs another reboot as much as I need another visit from crabs, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that this is the kind of reboot we can fully embrace.
Internet famous pug, Doug The Pug, really stretched himself as an artiste by starring in a one-pug reboot of Stranger Things called Stranger Pugs. The first rule of rebooting a favorite is: DON’T! But if you must, you should put your own spin on it, up the budget and take it to artistically new places that the original never went. Doug The Pug did all of that and more. I was going to say that Doug plays all the roles, but Doug doesn’t play. Doug became all of the characters. Daniel Day-Lewis and Meryl Streep will soon throw Snausages at him while begging him to teach them his thespian skills. But what Doug The Pug possesses cannot be taught! You have to be born with his kind of gift.
(But seriously, Doug The Pug does give more facial expressions than Kristen Stewart. Although, that isn’t saying much since this pen holder next to me gives more facial expressions than Kristen Stewart.)
Yes, Doug The Pug’s “Barb” is more like Annie as Tootsie, but that’s what real artists do. They reinvent! If TV Land knows what’s good, they’d make Doug The Pug in charge of their Heathers reboot. Only Doug can do it justice!
