Do you get the meat sweats? Either because you eat too much of it? Or because you crave it so badly you sweat from withdrawals? (Dick meat doesn’t count here, I think.) Well, here’s the invention for you! And it’s not called self-control! A new plant-based food company partnered with a professor from Oxford to create a meat patch that is totally not a marketing gimmick. But this isn’t like a nicotine patch where your body is exposed to some salty-delicious bacon periodically throughout the day in an effort to wean you off the stuff. This is a sticker you put on your arm, and scratch and sniff whenever you get a craving for meat. So instead of eating meat, you can just look like a total psycho in public!

The Takeout says that plant-based food company, Strong Roots, has teamed up with Charles Spence, a professor of experimental psychology from Oxford University, and together they have come up with a way to fight meat-eating! Scratch-n-Sniff stickers! Charles has this theory that if you sniff a meat patch sticker whenever you’re feening for some meat, you will be satisfied by simply the smell of the artificial bacon. He said:

“Our sense of smell is strongly connected to our ability to taste, therefore experiencing food related cues such as smelling a bacon aroma can lead us to imagine the act of eating that food. Imagine eating enough bacon and you might find yourself sated.”

Strong Roots makes the patches and are currently testing them on people who want to become vegan or vegetarian. If the tests are successful, they’ll start selling them. But they’re already ahead of themselves, because they’ve hired a “celebrity spokesperson.” Not my words. Tommy Fury from Love Island? Are you familiar? I’m not but I Googled:
