Jennie Garth is saying to hold the goddamn phone when it comes to those claims by Fox that they have canceled BH90210. You think it’s over? It’s not over until Jennie-fucking-Garth says it’s over! And she has not decreed it, so BH90210 will live on in some way… maybe. Jennie is teasing that BH90210 is not over and that maybe this whole cancellation-thing may just be another part of the show….?
Us Weekly says the shows not over for the kids-now adults of West Beverly Hills High School. Jennie Garth was a co-producer and co-creator of BH90210 along with Tori Spelling. According to Jennie, that shit is not over, so the people over at City National Bank shouldn’t get too worried about a sudden stop of payments from Tori. At least not immediately.
At an event, Us Weekly caught up with Jennie who told them that BH90210 may not be dead:
“I was very, very proud of the work we did in the first season. That was our baby. The show is very meta, so it’s good. The confusion is fine. Everybody’s like, “What is happening!?” We don’t even know. Nobody knows, but we are working it out. It was a very unique, creative vision and it was very specific, and it was hard to convey that to everyone, to get them on board to do it, from every aspect–the studio, the network, the cast, the producers, everyone. So [the fact] that we were able to pull off that feat and bring that show to people and have people really kind of get it… maybe they didn’t love it because they wanted the old reboot and that’s fine. The show is, sort of, headed in a direction of giving everybody the best of both worlds.”
This tells me these two are already shopping this show around to other places because Jennie isn’t going to just let her best friend be jobless like that, and I’m sure someone will take pity on their half-assed attempt to create a Curb Your Enthusiasm-but-with-the-Beverly Hills, 90210-adults-show. She also tweeted about how this cancellation was just material for the next season:
Summers highest rated show gets more meta by the minute #bh90210 practically writes itself! Thank you for the 2nd season material
You never know what’s really going on behind the scenes! Stay tuned…
