Open Post: Hosted By KFC Hong Kong’s Popcorn Chicken

For a supposedly “American” institution, KFC sure does treat us locals like shit. KFCs in Hong Kong are offering popcorn chicken that’s made with actual popcorn and comes with a caramel gravy, and all we got was 11 types of cancer, one for each of the herbs and spices they crammed into those infernal fireplace logs. KFC is taking the concept of popcorn chicken literally, and have added “Popcorn Crispy Chicken” to their menu in Hong Kong.

Delish reports:

According to Brand Eating, the limited-time menu item comes as advertised—it is essentially chicken that is breaded with popcorn bits and then fried. Lest you worry that’s not enough theme commitment for you, please know the dish is served with a “caramel-flavored” sauce you can pour over the entire meal, should you so choose. That’s to enhance the dessert-iness of your KFC experience, of course.

It sounds thoroughly disgusting, and I want it NOW.

KFC HK is also offering a “Caramel Popcorn Sundae” that comes in “a tiny KFC bucket filled with vanilla soft serve” which sounds cute, but considering what passes for mashed potatoes at KFC, I wouldn’t trust it. But I’m fully on board for popcorn chicken with caramel sauce. I wonder if KFC HK would consider a trade. They can have nightmare inducing drag king Colonel Sanders (sorry Reba, you made your bed), and we’ll take the bucket load of diabetes fowl. Fair is fair.
