Pro wrestling is fake but this wasn’t! Bret “The Hitman” Hart is a longtime member of the WWE’s band of spandex-encased soap opera actors and was duly honored as such at their Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn last night. Things were going well until a man named Zachary Madsen leapt onto the wrestling ring-cum-stage and tackled Bret (and WWE star Natalya) to the ground.
Mashable reports that Madsen is stupid as well as crazy, seeing as he attacked a pro-wrestler with all of his pro-wrestler fans standing around. (Props to Natalya for remaining calm and lying perfectly still as pro wrestlers beat the stuffing out of the guy on top of her.)
This is probably the best angle of the incident involving a fan (and I use that term loosely) attacking Bret Hart. Disgusting. This guy deserved everything he got in the aftermath. Glad to hear Bret was OK and able to resume his speech. #WWEHOFhttps://t.co/6j1Rf8pkMb pic.twitter.com/pXwDdcIo6s

Fortunately, security personnel subdued the man quickly with the help of several other pro wrestlers. (As one might expect, attacking a wrestler in an arena full of other wrestlers is not a great idea.)
CBS reports that after Madsen punched Bret Hart, big wrestling names were on hand to pummel Madsen before he was shuffled off to jail.
According to CBSSports, the WWE legend was saved by current wrestling stars Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, and Curtis Axel.
Madsen was charged with two counts of assault and trespassing, due to a security guard receiving minor injuries while trying to subdue him. Bret was relatively unharmed and able to finish his speech.
What no one’s pointing out is that the crazy white guy was wearing what looks like one of those fake Rastafarian costume hats complete with fake dreds dorky people wore to be funny in the 80s and 90s? Ugh, he’s also rude for choosing a problematic costume to disguise himself.
