Weenies is a hot dog joint in New Jersey that recently opened another location in the town of Madison. Hot dogs are better than pizza if you don’t think about what they’re made out of, so CBS New York reports that the townspeople of Madison were initially pleased that a meat popsicle place was opening up on Main Street. That was until they saw the Weenies’ t-shirts (above).
Were they really surprised that a hot dog restaurant called Weenies makes a t-shirt with a dick joke? Looks like.
Residents are taking offense to the shirts and they aren’t remaining silent about their concerns. In an on-camera interview, one woman says the slogan is “almost as vulgar as having a lot of cuss words on it.” Many feel it is inappropriate for children. Others think it goes against the family values of the city.
Weenies’ co-owner Michael Dey responded to the controversy by “oddly pretending” he doesn’t understand what the clutching of pearls is about. After all, that arrow is pointing to the URL. Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge. Oh, Mikey.
“It’s just marketing, it’s strictly interpretive. You can look at the shirt and see whatever you want to see, it’s what you make of it. We don’t send any kind of particular message with it.”

You probably don’t want to work there, though. They’re open to 3 AM. Which means they’re open to an ungodly hour when people are coming in from bars or clubs that want drunk food. And some dude slinging dogs is there wearing a t-shirt inviting you to grab at his crotch. This is not a recipe for cultured behavior.
