Sports are marred with interruptions of all kinds: poor weather, dramatic injuries, sexy streakers, and sometimes overenthusiastic dogs. A soccer match between the Chilean and Venezuelan women’s national teams experienced its own doggy disruption when large pup ran onto the field. Maybe he thought this was a big chance to show off his skills and make it into the big leagues!
You can see from players’ faces that they were taking the match quite seriously. However, at the 36th minute mark, the dog concluded that a 0-0 score wasn’t exciting enough and decided to give the audience and the players the ol’ razzle dazzle! I guess if a nude streaker comes onto the field, you hope it looks like this one!

After getting pets from multiple players and uproarious cheers from the crowd, the dog is finally nabbed by two members of the Chilean team and is hauled off the pitch. I’m not certain if the guy the players handed the dog over to has carried a dog before, but it was all a great team effort! Even in high level sports, you gotta be ready for anything – even dumb but loveable intruders! According to Uproxx, the match was just a friendly. However, it can be strategically important as Chile and Venezuela are in opposite groups in the upcoming Copa America Femenina. Ah, I see what the dog was at. He thought he could crash the game and eventually join the big tournament! While I appreciate his gusto, this dog will have to do more than lie back and request belly rubs if he wants to go pro. Belly rubs come AFTER you become a huge sports star. Just ask any famous footballer!
