The 1988 camp classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space is getting a horrifying update. Killer Klowns just don’t pack the same punch as they used to, thanks in part to the upstanding way Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of Insane Clown Posse have comported themselves these past few years. Scary clowns jumped the shark when Kanye ran for president. Now they’re just sad. Nowadays, the thing that curdles the blood and jellies the knees are killer babies from outer space. That’s the premise of The Baby, a new horror/comedy series from HBO and Sky, set to premiere in late April. The only baby scarier than The Baby’s cherubic psycho killer is Bhad Bhabie, and the only baby who’s more grotesque is DaBaby. However, Boss Baby remains in a ghastly class of his own.
The Baby brings a whole new meaning to the sickening British term “yummy mummy.” According to Collider:
When 38-year-old Natasha is unexpectedly landed with a baby, her life of doing what she wants, when she wants, dramatically implodes. Controlling, manipulative and with violent powers, the baby twists Natasha’s life into a horror show. Where does it come from? What does it want? And what lengths will Natasha have to go to in order to get her life back? She doesn’t want a baby. The baby wants her.
The Baby stars a cadre of British stars that you’ve seen from that one show. There’s that lady from Peep Show, that chick from Sex Education and whatsherface that played on Carnival Row. Here’s the trailer!
Look I’m sure most sky babies are perfectly innocent and deserving of protection. Heck, Superman was a sky baby! But are you willing to take the risk? Not me. Any sky baby entering my air space is getting punted until we figure out what’s going on. Especially if I’m in a cornfield!?! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeet. Cry all you want little baby, I’ve got anywhere else to be. Let your Children of the Corn brethren come swoop you up if your mission is that important. Baby Yoda is the only exception I’d be willing to make. I’d do anything for that kid.
