If you have a pet, child, or unruly adult (hell, maybe that’s you!), you know how stubborn they can be. Especially if you ask them to do something mildly inconvenient. Meet Sausalito, a border collie Australian shepherd mix and patron saint of dramatic stubbornness! When the puppy’s human Alison Fitzgerald Kodjak tried to take him home after a trip to the dog park, Sausalito said, “No, ma’am!” and protested against the injustice of it all!
Newsweek describes the ordeal:
It started like any other walk around the local dog park. However, things took an interesting turn towards the tail end of this particular trip out.
Eager to remain in the park with their fellow furry, four-legged friends, Alison’s dog decided to take a stand.
Or, rather, a sit.
Taking to the floor, for their very own sit-in protest, the defiant doggo’s message appeared simple: you can take me home, but that doesn’t mean I have to walk.
Lying between the road and kerb, the rebellious dog appears only too happy to wait it out, evidently confident their owner will crack and let them get their way.
Here’s the photographic evidence of Sausalito’s histrionics:

There’s no word if Alison had to drag her dog all the way home or if Sausalito won the battle that day. Her plight was a hit with the internet community. In a show of solidarity, commenters shared stories of their own protesting pooches.

Sausalito got his happy ending, though. Alison snapped a picture of her melodramatic pal enjoying a new day in the dog park.

If you’ve ever met a border collie or Australian shepherd, you KNOW those dogs are high on the energy and theatrics. I would say Sausalito will grow out of it, but that would go against his nature. Maybe Sausalito has a movie career in his future. He’s clearly got the acting chops and raw drama queen talent!
