If you’ve ever eaten a sandwich from Subway then you know what disappointment tastes like. Questionable chunks of meat and a lonely piece of cheese tossed upon a thick piece of “bread” topped with an entire produce section’s worth of lettuce and VOILA! Don’t get me started on the allegedly fraudulent tuna. But that hasn’t stopped them from the delusion that their contribution to the food world isn’t on the verge of extinction, because with their recent new ad campaign, they literally tried to give free food away. And nobody was interested.

According to Eat This, Not That, Subway is desperately trying to remain in the game since becoming an underwhelming presence within the fast-food world. They even started an entire rebranding campaign called the Eat Fresh Refresh featuring star athletes like a bored-looking Serena Williams who has “Just gimme my damn check” written all over her face.

Yet, Serena aside, their main promise is better ingredients, new menu items, and a change in their customer service. However, a Subway snitch who has a few franchises decided to expose all of those lies claiming that the changes aren’t really changes at all.

“Our turkey may be sliced more thinly now,” our source says, “but it’s the exact same turkey we were using before.”

The Subway operator says the company’s thinking behind slicing their ingredients “deli-thin” was that the optics of the subs would change. “Optics matter, sure, but we’re having to pay for it. Our labor has gone up.”

Making matters worse was the time Subway tried to give away free food to their customers by promising a free sandwich to the first 50 people who showed up at one of their locations. And even then people were like, “Nah son!”

“There were a few stores that did have 50 giveaways, but quite frankly, most stores managed 10 to 20,” our source says. “That’s what I’ve heard from at least 100 franchisees.”

Our source says that before the launch, the thinking was that the sandwiches would “bring people back to Subway’s restaurants which are looking good, operationally tight, and will have this new product that people will be excited about.” But the company allegedly tried to downplay the intention behind the giveaway once it became clear it was a failure.”

Looks like it’s a wrap for Subway which is probably for the best. Because we all should have boycotted them when they tried to invent a “healthy” cheesesteak. That was clearly the work of Satan.
