Open Post: Hosted By Puppies Predicting The Super Bowl

Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show now hold the dubious distinction of being involved with hosting Open Post two days in a row. But unlike yesterday’s gross revelation of Jeff Bezos hitting up Alexa for kinky roleplay that no one in their right mind wanted or needed, today is Super Bowl LV(55) and redemption is at hand:  It’s all about the puppies!

The competing teams this time around are the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the game will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. There will also be a protest outside of the stadium by a Native American rights group over KC’s name and the WTF in-game tomahawk chop. But before all that goes down, Jimmy Fallon made his show a million times better with puppies.

Every year, The Tonight Show uses puppies to predict who will win the Super Bowl. They got it wrong last year, but it’s a new year and Jimmy brought in new puppies. via HuffPo:

“The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Friday tasked two puppies with calling the outcome of the 2021 Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The pups donned team jerseys and raced to reach a bowl of kibble.

But for which side’s fans did they predict a dog’s life come Sunday?

This is far more suspenseful and interesting than wondering what Tom Brady, the Buccaneers’ quarterback, is allowed to eat for breakfast before the game, or if Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ quarterback, got COVID-19 from the team’s official barber.

The adorable pup representing the Chiefs is named Ron Bell, and the sweet Buccaneer pup is Gary Frick, Jr. By their names it sounds more like they’ll be competing in a 1958 spelling bee and both getting stumped by the word “Neutering.” SPOILER ALERT:  Gary waddled over to the kibble bowl first, so the Buccs are slated to win! And yes, the Super Bowl hasn’t even begun yet but it’s still clear that this clip is much, much more exciting than the actual game itself.
