It’s been *checks calendar* THREE DAYS! since we’ve seen tangible proof of Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas’ earth-shaking, global warming causing, thigh-melting, unbridled passion. I know, I’m worried, you’re worried, we’re all very worried. But fear not! According to E! News, BenAna are still very much in love, and lest we dare forget it, they’ve captured their amore on film in the music video for Puerto Rican rapper Residente’s new song, Antes Que El Mundo Se Acabe (Before the World Ends). The video features “113 every day couples” making out. Out of those 113 couples, 112 of them managed to kiss on screen without looking directly into the camera. I don’t think I need to tell you which couple could not.
Since they started wearing masks in public, we’ve been forced to imagine what BenAna look like when they’re kissing, instead of seeing them do it in the streets while holding sacks of dog shit courtesy of Rodrigo and his dedicated crew of documentarians. Now, it’s almost as if the universe heard our anguished cries and mistakenly thought that meant we wanted to see more (silly universe, it was just gas). According to E!
The A-list couple joined a long list of lovers who participated in Residente’s music video for their song “Antes Que El Mundo Se Acabe,” or as it’s translated from Spanish, “Before the World Ends.” According to the music group, they wanted to film this video as a way of “showcasing love in a free way, where your orientation is not judged.”
In total 113 every day couples from Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico and more countries sent in their videos of their intimate moment, along with those of famous duos like Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego, Bad Bunny and Gabriela Berlingeri and more. They sent them from the places where they are social distancing amid the coronavirus.
Ricky Martin and husband Jwan Yosef also participated, a moment that many of his fans went loca for.
Page Six reports that Ana is friends with Residente and agreed to participate in what he calls the “longest kiss chain around the world.” BenAna filmed their contribution while vacationing in the desert for her 32nd birthday. Us lost souls who are far too invested in this seemingly never-ending work of performance art, will recognize the set-up from that selfie Ana posted on her Instagram. Here’s the deeply weird video that will definitely make you feel self-conscious the next time you kiss somebody.
