As you may or may not know, the coronavirus is wreaking havoc on regions of northern Italy. But despite (or maybe because of) the fears, something truly miraculous has taken shape in the form of sweet, sweet nectar––red wine––flowing freely from faucets in the Castlevetro area near Modena. Residents made the discovery last Wednesday when they woke up, turned on the taps and received a steady stream of vino instead of water.

The local Modena newspaper claimed that reports of pinkish water, which many recognized as having the unmistakable smell of locally produced Lambrusco Grasparossa, began trickling in almost immediately.

(@winewankers) Obviously, the situation was a result of a technical fault from the local Settecani winery, where a combination of a silo leak and high pressure in the local water pipes resulted in the harmonious liquid getting into the town supply.
Upon catching wind of the news (because people have been posting clips of the miracle on social media rather than just sitting there quietly and getting hammered), the local water board sent technicians out to correct the leak, but not before residents literally began to bottle the output, putting it aside for a special occasion––although, after something like this happens, could ANY OTHER special occasion top it?
