USA Today says that one 20-year-old Sidney Wolfe totaled her Toyota Corolla on an Ohio highway last weekend while dressed up as a blood-stained Carrie White from Carrie. But her terrible night turned into a viral hit. My Halloween hangover had no positive reverb effects so… Sidney actually wins this one.
Sidney was filling in for a friend who played Carrie at a haunted house, which promoted a local production of “Carrie: The Musical” at the Paramount Arts Center. So she was handing out fliers and taking pictures to get people to see the show.
She was heading home from that gig after midnight when shit got real and she crashed. A deer jumped in front of her car and they collided head-on. Her car was wrecked, but aside from a bruise on her right leg, she was responsive and okay. But she did not look it.
Her makeup frightened a Good Samaritan who had pulled over to help, peering into her wrecked car and finding a blood-stained girl. The 911 responders even thought she was covered in real blood and not fake Carrie blood.
“The 911 responders handled it real well but they were all really freaked out at first. They were expecting something really bad. They kept asking, “Do you need medical assistance?”“
So she tweeted about it and it blew up:

This accidental viral tweet made Sidney an internet STAR and it also helped the local community theater crowd:
“I literally just tweeted it super fast because one of my friends said “That’s hilarious and ironic”… The ticket sales started going up a lot (after the crash).”
During the Thursday production of the show, attendees wanted to take pictures with “viral Carrie” and she went as Carrie to a few Halloween parties at her university. I mean, who doesn’t want to take a picture with the girl who almost died from a deer in the middle of the night but ended up a momentary sensation? Screw fliers and taking some pictures to promote a show: dramatically crash in the night! Next we can catch the Kardashian/Jenners get into car accidents so they can better promo their trash. Hopefully this time with better results.
