Unless you’re a die-hard fan, it’s pretty hard to identify an OK Go song by hearing it alone. You might be able to pick out “Here It Goes Again,” but it’s due to the hugely popular video with the treadmill choreography from 2009. Which is where I come to my point – the music is nondescript but the band’s visual components are always crazy! You can probably recall the Rube Goldberg device video, the toast art video, the zero-g video and the sort of dumb one where they drove by the instruments to play them which I think was also a car insurance commercial. The imagination involved when it comes to visualizing their music knows no bounds. Honestly, I am one jaded bitch and they never fail to delight my “meh” ass.

The clip for their song “The One Moment” follows suit. According to NPR, it took only four seconds to film but then they slowed it down to fit the length of the song. Rad! They also addressed the timeliness of their lyrics in relation to the current state of the union (so to speak).

“The song ‘The One Moment’ is a celebration of (and a prayer for) those moments in life when we are most alive,” the band says in the video’s credits. “Humans are not equipped to understand our own temporariness; it will never stop being deeply beautiful, deeply confusing, and deeply sad that our lives and our world are so fleeting. We have only these few moments. Luckily, among them there are a few that really matter, and it’s our job to find them. (We had no idea when we wrote the song that we’d be releasing its video in such a critical moment for our nation and the world. It’s one of those moments when everything changes, whether we like it or not, so the song feels particularly relevant).”
