If the new Popeye’s sold-out chicken sandwich is a Mercedes Benz, then the McChicken is a dusty scooter with one wheel. That breaded brick on a bun tastes gross and always has. So in an attempt to get with the times, McDonald’s has decided to amp up one of their latest chicken offerings as a way of entering the all encumbering chicken wars between Popeye’s and Chick-Fil-A.
If you like to take a walk on the wild side, Complex reports that McDonald’s is throwing its hat into the ring by introducing the Spicy BBQ Chicken Sandwich and Spicy BBQ Chicken Tenders. And although both items will be available for a limited time starting September 11th, the irony is that McDonald’s Spicy BBQ chicken items have been around at various locations throughout the year. Now they’re ready to make their official debut.
McDonald’s described the new chicken tenders as a “classic” take on buttermilk crispy tenders, but also “hand-tossed and perfectly-sauced” in their new spicy BBQ glaze. The sandwich was described similarly, an “all-white meat” fillet that’s served with onions and pickles.
Sounds like a trip to the bathroom for me, so I’ll pass. I stopped eating McDonald’s years ago when they kept stressing that their chicken was “100% all white meat”. Bitch that doesn’t sound like chicken to me because tons of animals have white meat when you cook them. For that reason alone, I won’t be eating this shit. Plus I used to work at McDonald’s so I know what that thing they call chicken looks like before it gets dressed up in sauces and lettuce. In the words of my favorite Keebler elf Ariana Grande, thank u, NEXT!
