Disney has released the official posters for the live-action The Lion King, and it’s important I specified that these are the posters for The Lion King, because otherwise you might think Dlisted had accidentally re-routed you to a stock image site that specializes in lions and meerkats.
Disney clearly didn’t hire the same marketing team that worked on their live-action Aladdin, because the promo images for Aladdin gave us “enthusiastic discount costume warehouse employee.” Corny, but at least there was some effort! Meanwhile, here’s the posters for The Lion King:

Look at those sad, lifeless CGI eyes. Those look like the animals from a special edition Zoobooks about depressed animals that have accepted the truth about climate change. Those look less like posters for a movie, and more like posters that hang up in the office of a zookeeper to warn the rest of the team what’s up. “Hey guys, watch out for TIMON – he’s been humping everything in sight recently. And keep on high alert for SCAR – he ate a hot dog thrown into his pen by some kid, and now he won’t stop farting.”
