While it probably didn’t involve the same perilous terror of being trapped inside a whale’s mouth or the EAR-itation of being trapped on the It’s A Small World ride, Stephanie Ferrari and her husband probably soiled their chonies a little when the two of them got into their dogs’ crates and the doors locked behind them, making escape challenging. Lucky for the internet, the fiasco was caught on video from several different angles, and lucky for the couple, they were eventually freed.
Newsweek says that Stephanie was making a TikTok centered around the groundbreaking content of putting her two dogs, a Cane Corso and a Malinois, in their crates. But for some reason, she and her husband had four crates; so after her two dogs got into theirs, Stephanie and her husband decided to test out the other two by climbing right in. And then came the part where they both realized mistakes had been made.
Unfortunately, once the crate doors shut there’s no way of opening them from the inside, which is great for the dogs but not so great for the two humans who found themselves trapped inside.
Here’s their lightbulb moment:

Their only option (besides dying a slow and embarrassing death) was for Stephanie’s husband to shimmy his crate in front of hers and reach through the grates to unlock it. After she got out, she was then able to open his door. Here’s the moment the rest of their lives began:
@stephanieiferrari Replying to @ashleybreayoung putting our last name to work. He zoomed right out and unlocked us from the crates #impactdogcrates #dogcrate #multidoghousehold #doghumor
Stephanie’s series of TikToks of this preventable and completely unnecessary event has racked up about 15 million views so far, and she’s now hawking the obviously very secure Impact Crates in her TikTok bio, so it wasn’t all bad! Their Wyze cam caught the whole ordeal, so if you’d like to see the progression from their idea, to their regret, to their humbling–here it is:
