Eternal Theatre Kid, Anne Hathaway, is forever That Girl when it comes to musical-type shit. This includes any kind of party game involving songs or theatrics. And during a game of Sing That, Name That Tune against Kelly on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Anne immediately recognized Kelly’s own song and sang it before Kelly had a chance. Nobody should have been surprised by that.
While promoting the AppleTV+ series WeCrashed, Anne went on The Kelly Clarkson Show and absolutely roasted Kelly, musically speaking. When the musical game started, Anne said to Kelly: “I don’t want to freak you out, but I have a foolproof strategy, so, good luck!” Kelly was excited at first because she “loves competition” but it quickly went south for her. Anne named and sang the first two songs correctly and that’s when Kelly asked the band to throw her a bone and Anne grabbed that bone and declared victory. via EW:
Ironically, before the round even started a desperate Clarkson shouts to her band “Can y’all play a frickin’ song I’ll know?!” While they clearly oblige, it’s her Oscar winner competitor who gets to the buzzer first, leading to Clarkson hilariously diving towards the floor in shame.
Here’s Anne showing Kelly to not fuck with a theater kid who is always waiting for a moment to yodel into a mic:

Theatre Kid Kill Shot! The final round was worth 5 points so either of them could have won. Kelly guessed the final song was Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby but then Anne came in with Queen and David Bowie’s Under Pressure, which Ice Ice Baby samples. So they were both right. And everyone was happy, especially AppleTV+ for the attention this little moment was going to bring to their show. Here’s the full game:
If only Anne was a part of Kelly’s divorce team, her never-ending divorce would’ve wrapped up a lot sooner. Because every time Brandon Blackstock would argue about wanting something, Anne would take the mic and sing until he screamed, “Okay, okay, give Kelly whatever she wants, MERCY!”
